Once an Eye is placed into each Frame block, the portal activates, and players can jump through to The End, where the dragon is located. Remember, there are only three strongholds on any given map, so there are only three Ender Portals available per world.

The only way to destroy a Portal Frame block is to break it in Creative Mode. Should you have the appropriate blocks, you can build an Ender Portal, but you have to be precise. Eleven of the twelve blocks that make up the frame can face any direction, but the twelfth block must face inwards if it is the final block that requires an Eye of Ender for the portal to activate.

At a distance of blocks away, an expanse of more islands begins, away from the main island. The outer end islands are found blocks away from the central island. They vary in size from large islands to smaller "mini islands".
